A small batch, not a production line

A Jellyxia bag only exists in a few units. The fabric is bought by the cut, often as a single piece, and once it runs out the model comes back in another colour or does not come back at all. It is the opposite of a permanent collection, and that is deliberate: every piece keeps something singular, down to the print placement which is never quite the same from one bag to the next.

What makes a fabric bag last

Three things, in order. The interfacing first: it gives structure and keeps the bag from collapsing on itself. The lining next, which hides the seams and doubles the thickness where it rubs. The topstitching last, at the points where the load pulls: strap anchors, base corners, pocket edges.

The crossbody

Hands free, bag against the hip. The most versatile format, the one you grab without thinking for a day in town.

The rounded handbag

Dressier, carried in the hand or in the crook of the elbow. Reinforced base so it stands up on a table.

The bucket bag

The largest of the three, closed with a drawstring. For days when you carry a notebook, a bottle and enough to last until the evening.

Caring for your piece

Hand wash in lukewarm water, mild detergent, dry flat in the shade. Iron on the reverse at medium heat. If the bag contains interfacing, avoid long soaks and the tumble dryer: those are the only two things that really damage it.
