The bag you grab without thinking
It lives on the door handle. It goes out for groceries, comes back with a laptop, leaves again with gym kit. A tote bag is not chosen for its looks but for its ability to take that life without losing its shape.
Three details that make the difference
The handles. Lined, folded, and topstitched four times at the anchor points. That is the only place a cheap tote really fails.
The inside seams. With French seams the raw edge is enclosed inside the seam: nothing frays, even without a lining.
The pocket. A patch pocket inside keeps your phone and keys apart from the rest, which saves emptying everything onto the counter to find a pass.
Medium or large?
The medium (36 × 40 cm) is enough for a day in town, a book, a bottle and a jumper. The large (42 × 46 cm) takes a 15 inch laptop flat, gym kit, or two days of holiday.
Care
Machine wash at 30 degrees in a mesh bag, dry in the shade, iron on the reverse. Washed cotton creases a little: that is normal, and it is what gives it its soft drape.
